The Hellboy Dinosaur

트로피이미지

Dinosaur bones were discovered near the Oldman River in Alberta, Canada in 2005. Paleontologists at Alberta’s Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology have studied them. They were found to be part of the “Regaliceratops” species, which means “royal horned face” in Latin, according to Science Watch. And, the paleontologists recently found that this is a new species and a cousin to the Triceratops. Triceratops was a three- horned dinosaur.

It is known that Regaliceratops lived 70 million years ago. Regaliceratops belonged to the Chasmosaurine group of dinosaurs, which had a simple neck frill. Compared with other dinosaurs, Regaliceratops had a bigger and more elaborate neck frill. This frill had five large angled plates stretching outward and also a spike on its nose.

It also had one long horn and two short ones near its nose and eyes. People call it “Hellboy” because they think that the dinosaur looks like the comic book and movie character, who also has horns.
